My name is Branden Lawson, PGA Associate, born and raised in Sacramento, California. I am not your typical golf professional. I didn’t grow up in a family that plays golf, nor did I grow up playing. In fact, it wasn’t until my 22nd birthday that I acquired my first set of golf clubs. I quickly fell in love with the game and what it stands for. It did not take long for me to realize that I wanted to surround myself around golf. I enrolled into the Golf Academy of America and graduated in 2012, where I focused my attention in golf operations and teaching the game of golf. Over the last 10+ years I have worked at various types of golf clubs in California, Utah, and now Texas where I have spent the last three years with Arlington Golf. Over the past 10+ years I have had the pleasure to work with a variety of golfers, from accomplished players to introducing the game to those that have never swung a golf club. I continue to educate myself by using the resources the PGA of America provides, shadowing top instructors in the state of Texas, as well as attending educational seminars.

Teaching Philosophy:
My philosophy is simple to grasp, maintaining simplicity. Understanding that no two people are alike and focusing on pre-swing and in-swing fundamentals are essential for not only mine but for you as the student’s success. My number one goal as an instructor is for you, the student, to possess the ability self-teach. This is accomplished by identifying how you learn best, thorough communication, accompanied with effective drills that are easily repeatable. All instruction is designed to each individual goals, limitations, and experience.

Arlington Golf is excited to offer our newest Adult Beginner Classes. “Get Golf Ready” is a fun filled, non-intimidating method of learning the game of golf in only 5 lessons! The courses will cover putting, chipping, iron and wood play as well as time spent on the golf course. Don’t have club? No worries, our Professional Staff has you covered!

Arlington Golf's Junior Camps are designed to teach all levels of ability and is a perfect way to spend your days out of the classroom on the links! Students will participate in fun, daily activities including golf specific exercises, golf instruction, rules and etiquette, course management and skills challenges.

Arlington Golf is proud to unveil a new learning directive for junior golfers ages 9-17 interested in reaching their full potential in golf. The PGA Academy curriculum has three levels that combines fundamental golf skills with character development. Providing each student with comprehensive instruction and the necessary tools to advance at their own pace.

PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends.

Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Junior League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development - both on and off course.

With more than 2,900 teams and 36,000 participants in 2016 - and Ambassadors like Rory McIlroy and Michelle Wie - PGA Junior League Golf has wide-ranging appeal for both youth and their parents.

Arlington Golf is proud to introduce SNAG® Golf (‘Starting New At Golf’), a revolutionary approach to teaching the basics of golf in a fun and friendly environment to beginning golfers of all ages.

SNAG® contains all the elements of golf but in a modified form, making it an easy and fun way to learn and play golf. The system builds on strong fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching and full swing to develop playing ability quickly and effectively. The game has its own simplified rules and terminology that adds fun to the learning and playing experience.

SNAG® has developed an effective learning system with a manual and curriculum for new learners of all ages. The key is in simplifying the instruction so that it can be an effective transition into the game of golf. The program builds on strong fundamentals of the different strokes and swings and develops playing ability quickly and effectively.
